STEP BY STEP FOR CURLY HAIR

STEP BY STEP FOR CURLY HAIR

Curly hair is slowly becoming more mainstream, and gaining more space in cosmetics. Which means we need to change the standards that have been so long imposed.

Understanding that different hair has different needs and understanding that the shape of strands is important to make sure everyone gets the best treatment on a daily basis.

Before identifying what will be done in the hair, it is necessary to know the classification of the strands, through their curvature. It is unanimous that curly hair is more sensitive, due to the texture, and with this, the oiliness of the root has difficulty reaching the ends, making it more dry.

Therefore, moisturizing, nourishing and rebuilding are essential steps to keep your curls healthy and shiny! The hair treatment schedule can help you in this mission. And to make the search for the right product and ideal way to treat easier, we’ve set up a step by step for you:

WASHING

Shampooing every other day, with the water always cold or warm.

The shampoo should be applied to the scalp twice, massaging lightly and allowing the foam to descend to the ends, being sufficient to clean the length of the hair

MASK

Before jumping straight to conditioning, it’s time to use a hydrating mask. After all, this is when the hair cuticles are open and ready to receive hydration.
CONDITIONER

Now the conditioner! Being an extremely important step, the product not only seals the cuticles of the hair, but also helps to untangle it later. The application must be made from the middle of the length to the tips.

Important: There’s nothing to apply and instantly rinse. Always let it act between 1 and 3 minutes and untangle the hair with your fingers while the conditioner acts on the hair. After this time, remove it completely.

Remove 100% of products in the shower.

Brushing doesn’t have to be a horror show

Apply a styling cream or leave-in to make the comb or brush slide easily through your hair.  Start by untangling the ends first and then move up to the roots.

Never pull on your hair.

After washing, use a comb with long teeth on wet hair. For  dry hair brush on with a paddle brush.

The final step:

The finishing processes must be done after washing the hair. This will completely transform the appearance of the hair, especially curly ones.

The ribbon technique is the most used and it consists of applying a moisturizing mask, or leave in (preferably with thermal protection) to all of the hair and then untangling it section by section, similar to small ribbons. Finally, scrunch them from the bottom up and you’re done: The curls are fully defined.

Another way is the rake and shake. The process is similar to the ribbon technique  however, instead of scrunching the locks, you stretch and balance them. With that done, you will notice a very natural definition.

It is important to remember: these finishing processes must be done after washing your hair. This guarantees several incredible days of definition after since the hair is well maintained and healthy.
